High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating
High Phos Electroless Nickel Plating is commonly used on components exposed to aggressive usage or hostile environments. In some applications, the use of Micro Plating High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel allows the substitution of less expensive materials as a low cost alternative for hard to machine or stainless steel alloys.
High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Characteristics
- 10-12% phosphorus
- High Hardness
- Uniform because plating is deposited chemically (100% coverage)
- Unique deposit properties:
- Threads, small diameter holes, recesses and internal areas are plated with a uniform thickness as well as sharp corners, edges or flat surfaces.
- Lack of porosity
Advantages
With its uniformity, hardness and high corrosion resistance, high phosphorus electroless nickel plating is ideal for parts that function under extreme environments. Results after plating with high phos electroless nickel can often eliminate the need for machining or polishing because the surface finish is so uniform. Its lack of porosity also adds to its strength, making it an obvious choice when you need a heavy duty finish.
Substrates
- Aluminum
- Brass
- Copper Alloys
- Leaded and Non-leaded Steel
